Emir Vela received his doctorate degree in Robotics from l'Université Pierre et Marie Curie/CNRS, Paris, France, in 2010; his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Microengineering with emphasis in Micro and Nanosystems from l'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - EPFL, Switzerland, in 2005 and 2003 respectively. In the framework of his doctorate studies, he received a scholarship from le Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives, CEA-LIST, France. He is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UTEC, Lima, Peru; and lead the Micro and Biorobotics Lab. Also, he is a Research Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico, USA. His research interests are in the field of Robotics, Microrobotics, Microfluidics, Design of Sensors and Actuators, and Control Theory.
